Lib

Hi! I’m Olivia, but you can call me Lib.

Actually, please don’t call me Olivia unless you’re my mother and I’m in trouble. If you are my mother and I am in trouble then you can call me Olivia Brecon and I will reply with an indignant ‘whaaaaaaaatttttt’ and then probably storm off or something.

I’m from Yorkshire and I do not plan on letting you forget that. I’m generally an amazing, funny, humble person who hasn’t yet figured out how to stop myself being sarcastic even (or maybe especially) when people clearly aren’t getting my sarcasm.

I love to cook, in particular I love to cook for other people (and enjoy the mandatory compliments). I love art and fashion and music but hate to follow trends, even if I secretly like them. You could probably describe me as aggressively independent, my whole life I have actively refused to follow the crowd and was always taught to challenge everything. I don’t think it’s one of my best qualities but it doesn’t seem to have served me too badly so far…

Cam’s notes: going as a pimp to a pimps and hoes party is a real power move

I am actually quite scared of travel. I love the idea of seeing the world and experiencing new things but in practice travel is a scary experience and being far from home, the people you love, and everything that is familiar is not as easy for me as I would want people to think. Truthfully, I struggle almost everyday to fight the urge to stick with what I know and just stay in bed, but I usually win that battle which I think is the main thing.

Having the right person with me to encourage me and remind me that everything will be okay is my secret. Which brings me to the best thing about me: Cam. People who know me know just how much I have changed since I met Cam, which, I have to stress, is down to me and not him. However, 18 year old, pre-Cam Lib would never have believed you if you told her what she’d be doing now. I feel incredibly lucky that the universe led me to him and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Cam’s notes: cool dude in a cool place

Cam has taught me one very important thing: relax, things will work out. Every time he says this to me it infuriates me because he JUST DOESN’T UNDERSTAND that things don’t ‘work themselves out’ if you don’t put in some effort as well. But, ultimately, I know he’s right and the ability to relax and go with the flow is one of the most important things I’ve learned (maybe even the most important thing but don’t tell him that) and it’s something that I wish I could teach my fellow overthinkers to do.

Cam’s notes: Lib wearing my clothes yet again… at least she looks good

Bear with me a moment while I get deep please. My experiences in life so far have also taught me that no one knows what is around the corner and nothing is guaranteed. You have no idea how much time you have so you may as well do everything now. If you’re in a period of waiting (maybe saving for something big) don’t put life on hold. You always need to find a way to enjoy what’s happening right now as much as you possibly can and never ever ever put life on hold. Out of my own personal hard times I have learnt the importance of positive thinking and always try to find the beauty in everything (even cloudy days and bad moods, but not stubbing your toe, there’s nothing positive or beautiful about that).

And, in a slightly bigger nutshell than I intended, that’s me. It’s nice to meet you.
